The Medicine is the Messenger

Good Medicine:

Herbs, acupuncture, THC and CBDs. Brownies, butter, pathology. Riki, meditation, prayer, rising with the morning sun. The woman at the front desk, dance, sing, tell your body you about your love. Chemotherapy, surgery, puzzles, chia seeds, patience, resilience, silence, Mangosteen,  rest, nourishing food, a letter from a friend, time for yourself, exercise, Tequila, a damn good book. Get out of the house, get tubes thats drain, tubes that feed, tubes that take away pain. March and walk and take a stroll at sunset. Organ transplants, tissues for your mother, Case Managers and Care Takers, an unwavering partner. Insurance, nurses, fundraisers, and doctors, a Facebook page to communicate. Acetaminophen, Morphine, a multi-vitamin, and so much water. Draw, paint, crotchet or knit. Record your thoughts, your side effects, remember what your doctor said, Call your mom, call your dad, make many amends. A heavy blanket, your favorite songs, guided meditation, smile. Flowers, cookies, freezer-ready meals, a snuggle with the doggers. Massage, essential oils, long baths and mineral springs. A stone, a talisman, a gem. The Evil Eye, a meditating Buddha, listen to the birds sing. Camping, calling people you love, getting back to working. The tea, the ceremony, a celebration like you are not sick. A fire, a t-shirt, a God that might listen. Creator, research, expert in oncology. Listening to the messenger, the Messenger, the messengers.
