The Fall

Leaves are swirling, down to the ground.
Headlines blasting, candidates go down.
Winds of change? Cold and bitter
New starts rise, bathed in glitter.
How to pick, who to choose
One side wins or do we lose?
This game we play in falls dim light
Lasts much longer than a shorter night.
Money flowing through the air
Is that true or do you care?
Vote here! Vote now! Pick me Please!
I don’t want to resemble these barren trees.
Winds of change, are they blowing?
Does anyone know
Where the hell we’re going?
America the beautiful
Land of the free
Vote for your people or vote for me
Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Jay
How I would love you to have your say
Take care of the people or do as you please

Better remember the fate of the trees.
